Mid Loft Bed With Desk
A mid loft bed provides additional space for sleeping or studying, but isn't quite as high as bunk beds. These solid wood beds offer 1,000 lbs of weight capacity and come with ladders with angled sides that extend 10" above the mattress. They also come with handrails.
Select from slats, panels, or curved bed ends and choose casegoods that match based on your preferences.
Stores
A lofted bed can offer lots of storage space. Some beds are positioned over a desk, and offer plenty of space for a TV or computer monitor and chairs, and a workspace to draw, write or type, as well as other work-related or school-related activities.
Many of our lofts include ladders or stairs to access the sleeping area. This is a great option for children younger than the age of 5, or rooms with lower ceilings. It can be enjoyable for children to climb a ladder to their lofted bed. Stairs and ladders are available in various designs and heights to fit your room and the decor of your child's bedroom.
Kivik Sand loft bed with desk and drawers is a popular choice for studying, sleeping, and storage. The top platform can be used for a full-size mattress, and the lower portion has four drawers and shelves that can be reached by lifting the top bunk or removing the ladder. The drawers feature solid oak sides and bottoms and also metal ball-bearing glides. They are joined. If there is a need for additional sleeping space an upholstered platform or captain's beds can be added to the set.
Another loft storage solution is our McQwinn White Junior Loft Bed with Desk and Storage. The twin size comes with a 3 drawer chest and small desk for students tucked under, all crafted out of solid birch, with natural finish (also available in Chestnut). This mid-height bunk bed is perfect for younger children or bedrooms with lower ceilings. This loft bed is designed to fit only one child, but it can be converted into a bunk bed by incorporating the stairs and guardrails that are available. Reading Nook
The space under a loft bed is an ideal place to create an inviting reading nook. Include a comfortable chair, reading lamp and a bookshelf or basket of books to set the stage for hours of relaxation reading a book. Lofted reading nooks are perfect for those who live in a studio apartment or a small space, or have a limited space for floor space.
With a custom mid-loft mattress, you can incorporate a closed area under the bed which could be used as a reading nook or fort. The area can be stained or painted to match the decor in the bedroom. A door and window opening are included in the frame to allow easy access. This can be accomplished using Twin Full, Queen or Twin loft beds. We have a variety of designs, including a Pirate Fort or Camp. Please contact us for more information on this design.
If mid sleeper bunk is a avid reader, a loft that has built-in shelving is the ideal solution. Make it a comfortable place to read in an armchair that they can relax in. Add a small table to hold magazines and books, or a laptop computer for studying and they will have a perfect place to read and stay engaged with their most loved books.
The nook can be outfitted with task lighting that can be adjusted to provide optimal reading conditions. This will reduce eyestrain during long periods of reading. A soft ambient lighting can create a peaceful ambience, ideal for relaxing at the end of the day with a good read.

A mid loft bed is a great option for a reading corner since it's not as high as a bunk bed or a full size loft bed. Children are less likely to be intimidated by the height of loft and will appreciate having their own space for reading, working or playing. This mid loft bed is even more enjoyable when you include an incline!
Study Area
Loft beds with desks are becoming increasingly popular with college students who live in small dorms and apartments. They have also been embraced by kids, youth and teens to create their own bedrooms at home, as they provide space for both a bed and a study space. Studies show that children who have their own desks and study nooks are more organized and have better studying habits. They also perform better in school.
The mid loft bed is perfect for this since the sleeping space can be set up high and the workstation or desk could be placed underneath. Many loft beds are equipped with a large desk whiteboard, corkboard or corkboard, and 5 10" deep shelves that are perfect to study and store. We offer a wide selection of footboard accessories such as a Desk, Bookcase, and more. These can be added to the bed for additional storage and study space.
A mid loft bed has another great feature that it can be transformed into a full-size or twin conventional bed after taking down the ladder, slide and guardrails. This is a great choice for shared bedrooms in which each child can have their own bedroom and still have enough floor space to play or engage in other activities.
Addition of a slide or top tent to a deluxe loft bed can make it more exciting for kids who are looking for more excitement. The tent is great for sleepovers, and the slide makes it easy to remove yourself from the loft bed at late at night. The mid loft bed makes an excellent play area because it's not as high as the loft bed with high ceilings. It is also more manageable for young children.
Fun!
If your kids are old enough loft beds can be an enjoyable project for them to tackle together. As long as the space between the sleeping area of the mid loft bed and the ceiling is big (around 2 feet), your children can paint their mid loft beds with any color. It's an excellent way to express their individuality and style, as well as personalize their bedroom.
A mid-loft mattress is perfect for creating a dedicated workspace with enough space for the desk, chair or a sofa under. Alternatively, you could turn it into a comfortable reading space with a comfortable chair and a bookshelf. Combine it with the addition of a reading light or lamp to create the perfect place to read the pages of a book.
Even if you do not want to create a desk or study area You can still use your children's mid loft bed for storage. A loft bed can provide the perfect home for an assortment of bookshelves or dressers that match which allows you to double the floor space. Loft beds are ideal for children who have outgrown their Barbie and Fire Truck themed bedrooms and are now tweens or teens.
The addition of a ladder or a staircase to your child's loft bed makes it easy for them to climb up to the top, and is safe for kids with low ceilings. With a ladder rung designed to allow for a comfortable climb and a deep drawer beneath each step, they're an ideal place to store games and toys.
